I had been in youth ministry in the Chattanooga area for 24 years, and my wife and we read about a teaching residency program called Project Inspire.  We prayed about it for a while and decided to pursue becoming a part of the program.  So my experience teaching came a  little later in life than many of my fellow faculty members.  It is my goal to be a part of helping shape the generations that will forge the future of our city, region, and country.

My youth was spent being very involved in athletics.  I went from season to season and found a sport to be involved in most of each year.  Some of the most influencial people in my life were coaches that I have played under.  I still stay in contact with many of them now.  They helped shape my work ethics, my drive to succeed, and helped forge my character.  These experiences helped me become the man that I am today.

This is my fifth year here at Orchard Knob Middle School and my sixth year teaching.  I love teaching in the physical education department here. I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade mathematics. I taught in the Flex Math Department in past years and currently teach an RTI math class.   I have a Bachelors Degree from Samford University and a Masters Degree from Tennessee Technological University.  I enjoy coaching football, wrestling , and baseball here at OKMS.

We tell our students to bring 4 things to PE Class:

1. Your book that you are reading. (We read the first 5 minutes of the block.)
2. Paper and something to write with.
3. Your change of clothes for class if you brought planned to change.
4.  Some deodorant for after class.
