Subjects Taught

I graduated from Southern Adventist University in 2015 with a bachelors degree in K-12 Art Education with minors in both religion and English.

I am privileged to be spending my third year here at Orchard Knob Middle School. This year I will be instructing all three grades levels again, and have many exciting and engaging lessons planned. Many of these projects will expand on topics the students are learning in other subject areas. This will be an amazing opportunity to expand student knowledge in both art and art history as well as the topics of study in other classes.

Prior to teaching at Orchard Knob, I worked three years with a company providing after school art classes in elementary schools in which art classes are not a part of the daily schedule.

I am originally from California, where I lived until graduating form high school at Monterey Bay Academy in 2008. From there I moved to Chattanooga to attend college at Southern Adventist University. While in college, I found that I have a passions for both art and youth, which led me to Art Education. I strongly believe in the importance of art in schools as a crucial part of a students development.

Outside of school, I enjoy painting and drawing as my main forms of artistic expression. Spending time outdoors is also a passion of mine, and I enjoy rockclimbing, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, and gardening.
